The hunter Nestor Cedergren, 1849-1921, wanted his own tower, historical and majestic.

So he had architect Lars Israel Wahlman design the "Virgin Tower". During this time, fabulous towers were in vogue, as can also be seen in the medieval features of the tower.

1896 was laid the foundation stone for the tower by Nestor Cedergren's 17-year-old daughter Miss Vera. But the building encountered problems, including the dissatisfaction between the architect and Nestor Cedergren, and 1908 finished the work despite the tower not being clear.

For many years the tower was abandoned until Danderyds municipality bought it from the estate 1981 and after extensive renovation, the "Cedergrenska tower" could be inaugurated 1996, exactly one hundred years after Miss Vera laid the first building block.

Flowering orchard

The First World War broke out in summer 1914 and Sweden was increasingly isolated. The need for self-produced raw materials accelerated the fruit and vegetable cultivation in the Cedergrenska park. Today, there are still several different kinds of apple and pear trees in the park, beekeepers and a large variety of flowers.

In May 1938, Miss Naja Cedergren had fourteen rose bows installed with 34 New Dawn rank roses, still today the rose bows remain and are surrounded by magnificent roses and buzzing bees.

From our house it is easiest if you go down to the water Stocksundet, then walk south along the water and you quickly see the tower dry up on a hill. It is a little over 1 kilometers there and takes about 15 minutes to walk.
